This practice is composed of 33 minutes of asana, 10 minutes of meditation/pranayama, and 8 minutes of talking.
It is a Yin practice, where each pose is held 4-5 minutes at a time, with approximately a minute of rest between each posture for noticing and integration. We focus on the space of the heart, and open up both in particularly strenuous/ vulnerable ways but also turn towards more grounded, loving poses.
You are invited to solely take the asana if you need something on the go (begin at 2:28), or come in to massage the low back and dive into a body scan that systematically explores the body in order to relax the senses (34:00).
Props needed: 1-2 blankets, 1 block

MEET YOUR TEACHER
nathaniel is a self described Black weirdo with an East Coast heart and a RBF. He was deeply rooted in progressive and radical non-profit spaces in his local communities and nationally for 17 years. Previously a case manager, wellness educator, capacity builder, operations director and executive director, he is now an organizational development consultant, yoga instructor, Reiki master, and doula. His personal and community based practices are rooted in harm reduction.
