Each season nurtures the next, but how do we navigate excess in a positive feedback cycle? In Chinese five element theory, Winter corresponds with waters, kidneys and adrenals. The bitter cold of Winter is alarming and can so quickly make the body seize, stiffen or shrink.
In this physical yoga practice, we bring balance to Winter's waters by reflecting back on Late Summer with its ties to the Earth element. As a river requires sturdy embankments to flow freely, an emphasis on clear boundaries and solid form serves to create an open channel for energetic flow in your yoga practice.
